Stair climbing is officially classed as a vigorous exercise and is suitable for most people.

As long as you take care climbing the stairs should be a fun, safe and healthy.

However, please:

  • Never run on the stairs
  • Never use the stairs with your hands full
  • Do not climb or descend stairs in shoes that you do not feel securely balanced in
  • Always use the handrail
  • If you have an existing health condition and have been advised by your doctor not to undertake vigorous physical activity, you should consult your doctor before using the stairs more than you normally would

Happy climbing!
